Ballroom Dance: A fun way to stay fit. Learn the six major dances including Fox Trot, Waltz, Swing, Rhumba, Cha Cha and Tango.
Bench and Sculpt: This interval class combines weight-conditioning segments with bench-stepping for a complete workout.
Bench Blast: A one-hour class based on the stair-climbing concept, combining leg and arm movements with weights to give a low-impact/high-intensity workout.
Body Flex: A 60-minute barbell class utilizing a three-pound bar and adjustable weights for a complete strength training/fat burning workout. Can be adapted to any fitness level.
BOSU: A 45-minute class to help with balance, muscular endurance, cardiovascular and strength training. Can be adapted to fit any fitness level.
Firm Offer: A one-hour class designed to improve flexibility and muscular fitness. Resist-a-balls, dumbbells and tubing are utilized to tone and define muscles.
Meltdown: A
hotter strength training workout combined with intense cardio intervals. An advanced workout.
Rock Bottom: A 45-minute class utilizing various equipment for a complete lower body and abdominal workout. Can be adapted to fit any fitness level.
All classes are coed. Child care is available during specified times. Class schedule effective October 2002 (subject to change).
Specialty Classes, Studio B printable schedule
Body Sculpt: A 75-minute class emphasizing strength training, body toning and abdominal work. Designed for the beginning to advanced exerciser interested in the muscular component of fitness. Body Sculpting/Toning meets in the free weight area.
Facets of Fitness: A more advanced workout for senior adults, this class incorporates an aerobic workout with flexibility and strength exercises. One hour.
Feldenkrais: Develop flexibility and coordination by awareness through movement. Seasonal.
Fitness in Motion: Focuses on beginning exercises and emphasizes coordination, flexibility, strength and balance. Outstanding for persons just getting started.*
Hatha Yoga: Uses physical postures, breathing practices and relaxation to harmonize body, mind and spirit. For all ages and fitness levels.
Hot Yoga: A challenging form of yoga for the fit individual, increases strength and flexibility. Ninety-minute class is taught in a heated room. May not be for persons with orthopedic considerations or persons intolerant to heat.
Low Impact: Designed to take the bouncing, jumping and other potentially injurious moves out of the aerobic phase. Class also includes muscular strengthening, toning and flexibility.
People with Arthritis Can Exercise (PACE): An exercise class, sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation, designed for people with arthritis. Gentle exercises increase joint flexibility, range of motion and maintain muscle strength.
Step Basics: Easy-to-follow class which utilizes bench stepping, stretching and toning. Designed for those new to step or those who prefer simplified choreography.
Yoga Flow: A challenging one-hour class combining the Hatha, Lyengar and Vinyass forms of Yoga.
All classes are coed. Child care is available during specified times. Class schedule effective October 2002.
